Lunch & Paper Discussion on Using fMRI to Predict Suicide

December 12, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

On Tuesday, Dec 12, at noon we will have Geoff Aguirre (Neurology) and Stephen Morse (Law) leading a discussion on the recent paper by Marcel Just et al, using fMRI to predict suicide.

It’s an interesting study that illustrates both the promise and the limitations of machine learning approaches to diagnosis and prediction.  Please join us for lunch and discussion at the Center for Neuroscience & Society, 2nd floor of Goddard.

The paper is titled “Machine learning of neural representations of suicide and emotion concepts identifies suicidal youth” and it authored by Marcel Adam Just, Lisa Pan, Vladimir L. Cherkassky, Dana L. McMakin, Christine Cha, Matthew K. Nock, and David Brent.
