Please join the AAAS NeuroPolicy Affinity Group next week, as we continue our Spring 2016 series of discussions.  We are excited to welcome Dr. Jacob Vogelstein, from the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Agency (IARPA), where he will discuss recent projects undertaken by the agency as a part of the President’s BRAIN Initiative with the discussion topic:

Bio: Dr. R. Jacob Vogelstein is a Program Manager at the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. At IARPA, his areas of interest include neuromimetic algorithms, neuromorphic hardware, brain-computer interfaces, and other neurotechnology that can help to advance the capabilities of the Intelligence Community. Prior to joining IARPA, Dr. Vogelstein served as the Program Manager for Applied Neuroscience in the Research and Exploratory Development Department of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and as an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering. Dr. Vogelstein received an Sc.B. degree in Neural Engineering from Brown University and a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications, and his work has been featured in myriad venues including the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, the Intelligence Community’s Technology Exposition, and the Global Futures Forum.
