Project Description
Dr. Hamilton is an Assistant Professor in Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated from Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2001. During his medical training he pursued training with Alvaro Pascual-Leone, MD, PhD, a preeminent investigator in the field of noninvasive brain stimulation and earned a masters degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Health Sciences and Technology with a specific focus on neuroplasticity in blind and sighted individuals. He completed residency in Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 and a fellowship in Cognitive Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania in 2006. Dr. Hamilton’s interest is in how the brain reorganizes itself in response to injury, and whether it is possible to enhance the brain’s potential for reorganization in order to speed rehabilitation. His other research interests include the neural basis of multisensory integration.
