Presented at the Social, Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (SCAN) Certificate Program’s 1st Annual Retreat by Elizabeth Phelps, PhD, Julius Silver Professor of Psychology and Neural Science, Department of Psychology, New York University.

Dr. Phelps is a leader in research on the cognitive neuroscience of emotion, learning and memory. Her primary focus has been the influence of emotion on human learning and memory and the neural systems mediating this interaction. She is past president of the Association for Psychological Science and the Society for Neuroeconomics, a former editor of the journal Emotion and recently received the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Social and Affective Neuroscience Society.
