SCAN Retreat

Each year, the Center for Neuroscience and Society (CNS) hosts a half-day retreat for all current and past students in the SCAN program. The 5th Annual SCAN Retreat took place in February 2019.

During these events, students and alumni come together for lunch, followed by a series of student presentations focused on the ways neuroscience is incorporated into various fields of study. In 2019, the Advisory Board along with special guest Alan Leshner, former director of NIDA and former CEO of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, engaged in dialogue with our students. This portion of the retreat provided a wide range of perspectives on the “neuro-fields” (neurolaw, neurophilosophy, neuroanthropology, etc.).
