The Aging Brain and Alzheimer’s Disease

March 11, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join The Franklin Institute and leading experts from the Greater Philadelphia area for a series of six conversations neuroscience and society. These informative and engaging conversations will help you understand how the adolescent brain develops, how stress and our emotions influence decision-making, how addiction affects the brain, and more.

As Pennsylvania’s population grows older, maintaining good health and quality of life for older adults has become a community initiative. But, a major challenge is that more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, currently the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. Researchers have identified several hallmark Alzheimer’s brain abnormalities and risk factors, but many questions still remain. Join experts in aging and Alzheimer’s research from Penn Medicine and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine to delve into the mysteries of the aging brain, this debilitating disease and the impact it has on families and communities.
